applejuice 1.0 beta 2.
Response to applejuice has been great, though I haven't done much marketing yet. Feel free to spread the word!
And here's a new version: Applejuice 1.0 beta 2. New in this version:
- A "large thumbnail view" (on the right-click menu, or press T). To make this look better, I cranked up the thumbnail size from 75px to 200px; hopefully it's worth the extra bandwidth.
- "Link to this image" should work right in all cases.
- "Open image for download" opens a new browser window with the source image.
- Up/down cursor keys work.
- Thumbs are always centered above the main image - not sure I'm done with this yet.
Check the updated demo to see everything in action.
Also, a zip with source code is available! This is a pretty good piece of OpenLaszlo sample code, if you're curious how a Laszlo employee codes.
A few people have asked about future plans. Here's the short list:
- Real UI: graphical controls for next/prev/play and other commands. All that text stuff is placeholder.
- Full-screen slideshow mode.
- Better deployment instructions - including how to run many galleries using only one .swf, and how to use PHP to generate XML on the fly. (sounds like somebody's already working on this)
- Fancier image prefetching
- Slideshow interval slider
- Nicer/bigger title display at startup
- Windows installer for picasa plugin?
- iPhoto plugin
That's about it for now.
